Content Curation: A New Approach
In today’s dynamic business landscape, content creators in organizations are constantly faced with newly emerging content requirements as business priorities and models change. There is also a plethora of MOOCs ( Massive Open Online Course) each with their extended library and hundreds and sometimes thousands of courses, adding to the confusion for the end user. How does the person decide which course is right for him? E.g. if there are 100 courses on Giving Feedback, how do you select or identify the right one without actually going through this course universe.
Challenges for the Content Creator
The Content Creator has a multi-dimensional challenge in this environment:
- How does she curate and identify which course is the right one for which role? E.g. giving a library of 1,000 courses is at best a lazy solution given most employees are not instinctively proactive learners?
- For creating fresh internal content how does she identify the right resources or tools which can be re-used for the purpose of impactful content creation
- How does the organization maintain a history of all the content created by different content creators including not just the final output but also the source materials which maybe used/ re-used in different ways? What if there are 40 different courses created by 12 people from different regions and teams …is there a way to manage this chaos?
- Is there a way to create impactful ( say video based) content using the source building blocks?
In short ….is there a case for a kind of content repository armed with content creation support.
The Knowlens Approach Towards Content Creation
Recognizing the need for a more streamlined and strategic approach, Knowlens has developed its E Box – content repository cum content creation tool, At the heart of this initiative is a focus on centralization of systems but democratisation of content creation.
Centralizing the Content Repository
One of the key pillars of the E Box is the creation of a centralized content library, or “repository,” as the notes indicate. By consolidating all learning materials, from traditional courses to source materials like video and audio clips, images etc, Knowlens helps creators gain a holistic view of the content resources available This also allows the content creator to put together curated content which does not drown the learner in a ocean of courses with similar sounding content.
Whats more the E Box comes with Knowlens’ own library of 4,000 clips.
The Road Ahead
As organizations understand the need for centralising and managing of content, more systems will evolve to manage the final versions of the content ..the courses as well as the raw materials ..the media assets which make up the course content.
Over time, we believe significant efficiencies and cost savings can be built into content creation.

Publishing effective Job Descriptions (JDs) is a cornerstone of any successful Talent Acquisition strategy. However, a persistent challenge faced by Talent Acquisition teams is the outdated, overly textual, and uninspiring nature of traditional JDs. This often results in a lack of engagement, with prospective applicants overlooking opportunities due to the dry presentation of roles and responsibilities. The consequence? Fewer responses and missed opportunities to connect with the right talent.
Recognizing this gap, Knowlens collaborated with Vi (Vodafone Idea Limited) to redefine the way JDs communicate with potential candidates. Together, we crafted four engaging, story-driven JDs for key roles: Retail Store Managers, AGM Channel Sales, Area Sales Managers, and Manager – Cluster Core Operations. These innovative JDs are designed not just to inform but to inspire, leveraging storytelling to highlight the essence of each role.
To bring these stories to life, the videos were shot with live actors at Vi’s Corporate Office and a Vi retail store, adding authenticity and relatability to the narratives. Each video employed a distinct creative approach, ensuring that the portrayal of the roles was not only accurate but also compelling and visually engaging. Moving beyond the confines of traditional job portals, these captivating story-based JDs are now poised to make their mark on Vi’s social media platforms, effectively broadening their reach and appealing to a diverse pool of talent.

For Knowlens, AI is increasingly a critical element in its Learning Management System(LMS) strategy. Leveraging the cutting-edge AI technology called Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), , the system ensures that your corporate knowledge stays secure and private while delivering accurate, context-aware responses to both course creators and learners.
The impact on productivity and learning outcomes has been significant. Course creators can now build comprehensive training materials in a fraction of the time, as the system assists them by suggesting and incorporating relevant content. For learners, the experience is transformed through an AI-powered assistant that provides precise answers drawn directly from course materials and approved sources, leading to better engagement and knowledge retention. This will help in follow on learning subsequent to main course … a bit like the dessert reinforces the main course on the menu, no pun intended.
